Scientists confirm existence of space hurricanes

A group of researchers have found out that the much-talked-about space hurricanes do exist.

Using satellite data, researchers from Shandong University identified a space hurricane and found that it was not simply a pattern of air but was a whirling pattern of plasma-ionised gas.

American Red Cross says vaccinated donors can give blood, not plasma

COLUMBIA â Due to harsh winter weather in Missouri last week, the American Red Cross canceled 81 blood drives.
American Red Cross Regional Communications Manager Joe Zydlo said the weather caused a shortage of nearly 2,100 blood donations in the state and parts of Illinois.Â
It just hit us all in one week, Zydlo said. We have to collect almost 600 donations a day, so if we re losing close to 2,200, that s almost four days without collecting. Â
While the donation center was hit hard by winter weather, the center said they expected it.
We want to have a five day supply. So in situations like this, we can overcome it, we don t have to issue an emergency need, he added. ....

The MFA tower off of Paris Road entered the starting stages of demolition Tuesday afternoon.
MFA Agri Services has closed five centers across Missouri since 2019, including: Bronaugh, Columbia, Essex, Fulton and Springfield.
The tower stood in Columbia since the 1960s, where residents say it became a beacon of familiarity around the area.

Plasma Donation and COVID-19
Plasma donation is a specific form of blood donation whereby plasma, the clear liquid component of whole blood, is collected during donation through a process known as plasmapheresis. During plasmapheresis, an apheresis machine removes and separates the plasma from the whole blood. As plasma contains nutrients, proteins, and antibodies, it can be used to develop treatments for diseases. Plasma used for these purposes is called convalescent plasma.

Convalescent plasma has been used in the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases for centuries.
