Motorists returning to Auckland from Northland following the long Anzac Day weekend are reporting no delays, although traffic is buildling closer to the city.
We just drove through Wellsford and Warkworth and on to Takapuna, arriving home at 2.15pm, said one motorist.
Another motorist reported a smooth drive through Warkworth - a notorious bottleneck at long weekends.
The trip to and from Northland is expected to improve from May next year when the 18.5km Puhoi to Warkworth four-lane highway is completed. It will bypass the growing township of Warkworth - one of the worst weekend holiday bottlenecks in the country. ....

The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) said Saturday it was considering recommending lockdowns in cities with high COVID-19 positivity ratios.
The NCOC s statement follows a session held earlier today, with Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar in the chair.
According to the NCOC statement, in light of increasing coronavirus cases, the forum deliberated upon proposed lock downs in high disease prevalence cities . ....

ABC Action News has been pressing the Department of Health and local offices for more in-depth COVID-19 vaccination data for months now, and we are finally getting some answers.
The Florida DOH is now providing some vaccination data broken down by zip code, age, race and more, but only from certain counties. The data comes after Scripps, and other Florida media groups, pushed for this data through lawyers.
Pinellas and Pasco Counties gave us the most detail.

PM Citu: No Health Ministry working group tasked with looking into Covid deaths reporting methodology

Prime Minister Florin Citu said today, after participating in the meeting of the Ciolpani-based National Intervention Management and Coordination Center, that the Health Ministry has no working group tasked with looking into the reporting of Covid deaths and announced that such an expert body will be now set up.
Asked if he intends to send the Control Body to the Health Ministry, or to request an inquiry following ex-Health Minister Vlad Voiculescu s statements about inconsistencies between the two Covid deaths reporting platforms, Citu said that Secretary of State Andrei Baciu informed him that the Health Ministry does not have a working group tasked with looking at the reporting methodology. Consequently - the PM said - a working group will be created to investigate and follow the entire procedure, a body that will have to present its findings to the government, which will then draw the necessary conclusions. ....
