(Undated) A CDC map shows six to ten percent of Massachusetts residents admit they’re reluctant to receive a COVID-19 vaccine…a low number when compared to other states. The state reports an additional 1,370 newly confirmed cases. That figure is slightly higher than what the DPH reported over the past couple of days but is lower than it was last Wednesday.
BOSTON (AP) – This year’s 11th graders won’t be required to take the MCAS test to graduate as the state continues to slowly emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education board voted Tuesday to modify graduation requirements so members of the Class of 2022 won’t be required to take the MCAS test to graduate due to the turmoil created by the pandemic. Three measures seek to promote regional sharing, cost savings

Connecticut’s heavy reliance on local property taxes is a millstone around the state’s neck, critics have long asserted. They say high property taxes are a drag on business, promote sprawl and bad land use and penalize land-poor municipalities.
A number of people believe this burden can be significantly reduced by sharing municipal services on a regional basis. Three measures are afoot that could encourage more regional services.
One is a bill before the General Assembly that would revive a dormant grant program to provide funds for regional services provided either by the state’s nine councils of governments (COGs) or six regional education service centers (RESCs). It’s one of two proposed bills aimed at promoting shared services. ....
