CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Funds are starting to run out for a statewide birth control access program, that serves more than 250,000 women in South Carolina.
The New Morning Foundation launched Choose Well, the largest contraceptive access program in the state, in 2017. They partner with more than 60 health partners that have over 160 clinical sites across South Carolina.
“Before we started Choose Well, we realized a lot of low-income women and women living in rural areas depended on primary care providers that didn’t have ability to stock and purchase all forms of contraceptives,” New Morning president and CEO Bonnie Kapp said. “What we do is make grants to clinics to make sure that they can purchase and ....
