Andrew Yang commands a double-digit lead in the Democrat primary for mayor, with his closest rivals, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and Comptroller Scott Stringer, trailing by more than 10 percentage points each, a new poll released early Wednesday morning revealed.
Yang, an entrepreneur, would win 28% of total votes, with Adams projected to win 17% and Stringer getting 13%, according to the poll conducted by Fontas Advisors and Core Decision Analytics. Shaun Donovan and Maya Wiley would get 8% of the vote each, while Kathryn Garcia, Ray McGuire and Dianne Morales scored just 2% apiece. ....

A class action lawsuit filed against Tyson Foods on Tuesday alleged that the meat processing company intentionally misled shareholders about its COVID-19 safety protocols.
A class-action lawsuit filed against Tyson Foods on Tuesday said that twice as many Tyson employees died after contracting COVID-19 than any other meat processing company.
Filed in the Eastern District of New York, the lawsuit alleges that Tyson Foods provided shareholders with false claims about their safety protocols to the COVID-19 pandemic. A letter requesting an investigation into Tyson s annual financial report was sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission in December by New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer. After Stringer alleged that Tyson Foods misrepresented its COVID-19 precautions, stock in Tyson Foods dropped ....

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Comptroller Scott M. Stringer, along with trustees of two of the City’s pension funds, announced these funds have voted to divest their portfolios of an estimated US$ 4 billion from securities related to fossil fuel companies. The divestment, expected to be one of the largest in the world, will address the significant financial and environmental risks that these fossil fuel holdings pose to the funds. In 2018, New York City became the first major city in the nation to commit to divesting major public pension funds from fossil fuel reserve companies. Since the initial announcement hundreds of other institutions, governments, and entities have joined this commitment. ....
