UNIONDALE, N.Y., Jan. 7, 2021 /PRNewswire/ PSEG Long Island today announced it has completed construction of a new 7.3-mile underground transmission line that increases the reliability and resiliency of the electric system in western Nassau County. The line, known as the Western Nassau Transmission Project, was put into service in December 2020, meeting regulatory deadlines and coming in significantly under budget.
Western Nassau County had two major transmission lines connecting the substations in the area, which were sufficient when initially installed. MAYVILLE The “Do Not Drink” water advisory for the village of Mayville’s public water supply has been lifted. Water is now acceptable for drinking, food preparation and all household uses.
Coordination between the village of Mayville, Chautauqua County and the New York State Departments of Environmental Conservation and Health has ensured that a new water source for the village, Well No. 4, is now online and providing clean water to Village residents. Water testing has confirmed Well #4 has no detectable levels of PFNA.
The village residents and water customers are commended for their cooperation during this emergency. ....
