3 things to do this weekend: food, trails and more


Hmong Heritage through food
The New Richmond Friday Memorial Library will host an event to celebrate and bring awareness to Hmong Heritage. Caterer and Chef Shirley Yang will host a cooking demonstration on the unofficial national dish of Laos, larb. A tasting will be provided. Yang, who trained at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, will also share stories about Hmong good and farming. Participants will have the chance to plant herb seeds used in the larb recipe. The event will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 18 at the Mary Park Bandshell Pavilion.
