83 million people worldwide benefit from MBRGI's Dh1.2 billion humanitarian and social projects in 2020

Dubai: More than 83 million people in 82 countries benefited from Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives’ (MBRGI) humanitarian and social projects in 2020, the foundation’s annual report has revealed.
Amid the outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020, MBRGI, the region’s largest philanthropic foundation, carried out Dh1.2 billion worth of humanitarian, social and developmental projects to aid the vulnerable and empower disadvantaged communities in the face of the biggest health crisis of the century.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the Year in Review 2020 in a special event, held at The Union House in Dubai, to highlight the far-reaching influence of MBRGI’s initiatives and activities during 2020. ....

Suqia UAE water distribution drive flows across nation and beyond during this Ramadan

Dubai: Suqia UAE, in collaboration with Mai Dubai and 13 other local charity organisations, is holding its 2021 Ramadan campaign to distribute drinking water to workers’ housing facilities and families in need across the UAE.
Suqia also worked on artesian and surface wells in Mauritania, Ghana, Niger, Benin and Tajikistan, with the expected number of beneficiaries around 182,500 people. The initiative has so far succeeded in reaching more than 13 million people in 36 countries with more than 1,000 sustainable water projects.

As the deadline for registration in the 3
rd cycle of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award draws closer by the end of this April, the UAE Water Aid Foundation ‘Suqia’ announced that several countries are taking part in the Award, totalling USD 1 million in prizes, for the first time. These include Algeria and Kenya; who will join the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, UK, India, Germany, Greece, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands. ....
