The Florida Reef stretches approximately 360 miles from Dry Tortugas National Park west of the Florida Keys to the St. Lucie Inlet in Martin County. This area faces imminent danger from an outbreak of coral disease termed stony coral tissue loss disease. Already in decline due to degraded water quality, climate change, and an expanding South Florida population, the reef has become the focus of a crisis intervention led by dozens of partners from federal, state, and local agencies; non-governmental organizations; universities; and members of the community. 
SeaWorld is among those actively combatting this destructive disease in an ongoing effort to support and protect the environment. West Palm election: Incumbent Peduzzi and newcomer Warren win races


WEST PALM BEACH – West Palm Beach voters returned an incumbent and added one new face to the five-member city commission.
In District 4 in the city s westernmost reaches, incumbent Joe Peduzzi brushed off a challenge from Jonathan E. Jones to win another two-year term. Peduzzi won by 69% to 31%.
Sickle Cell Foundation CEO Shalonda Warren beat Florida Atlantic University Instructor Deandre Poole by 55% to 45% for the District 2 city commission seat. The district runs roughly between Village Boulevard in the east and Military Trail in the west, from 45th Street in the north to Okeechobee Boulevard in the south.
