The Lagos-Ogun Collaboration in Context

Last week, in a strategic and visionary move, the governments of Lagos and Ogun states signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on joint development of infrastructure in borderline communities between the states.
At a ceremony in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dapo Abiodun inaugurated the Lagos-Ogun Joint Development Commission (LOJDC). Speaking on the occasion, Sanwo-Olu harped on the megacity status of Lagos and the need for developmental synergy with the neigbouring Ogun.
As he noted: “The Joint MoU is a sustainable development agenda under which Lagos and Ogun States will combine resources to meet our present socio-economic needs and prepare for the future. Genevieve Nnaji stars in new audio play "Fela Ten Twenty"

Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji will join the cast of the audio adaptation of FELA – ‘Fela Ten Twenty’, written and directed by filmmaker Funa Maduka.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the organisers said the audio play would be premiered on Clubhouse, the popular drop-in audio chat platform, on May 15 and May 16, with shows at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on both days.
Clubhouse is a social platform, built around “drop-in audio chat”, featuring ephemeral real-time voice conversations that any user can listen to but cannot record.
The statement said the proceeds from the show would support GEANCO, whose work provides full tuition, healthcare and social and psychological support to young female survivors of terrorism and gender inequality in Nigeria and across the continent. ....

Audio adaptation of FELA! Broadway musical premieres on Clubhouse May 15

Stephen Hendel, the original lead producer of the Broadway Show, FELA!, announced on Thursday that the audio adaptation of FELA!, written and directed by filmmaker, Funa Maduka, and featuring a global cast of performers, will premiere on Clubhouse, the popular drop-in audio chat platform, on Saturday, May 15 and Sunday, May 16.
Fela Ten Twenty, the title of the audio adaptation, will feature an exciting new interpretation of Bill T. Jones and Jim Lewis Original FELA! Script and it will be framing the ongoing #EndSars movement in the context of Fela Kuti’s legacy. Music for the production will be recorded in Lagos by the Cavemen, the band rekindling Nigerian highlife with their new album Roots. ....
