AJC as a member of the investigative team. He was part of a three-member reporting team that uncovered systematic cheating on state standardized tests throughout the Atlanta Public School District, an effort that won the 2012 Hillman Prize in Newspaper Journalism. The team went on to investigate cheating nationally and uncovered hundreds of districts with suspicious test result patterns similar to those found in Atlanta, a project that was a 2013 Goldsmith Prize finalist. ....

César Molinares. Journalist César Molinares was part of the team at Semana magazine in Colombia, where he investigated paramilitarism, environmental crimes, and corruption. He was the founding editor of VerdadAbierta.com, a media outlet that specialized in covering the armed conflict in Colombia, where he investigated the links between politicians, businessmen, the military, and drug traffickers and paramilitarism.
His investigative work earned him the Award for Excellence from the Inter American Press Association in 2012 and the Simón Bolívar National Journalism Award in 2011 and 2014. In 2016 he wrote for the Centro de Memoria Histórica, La Maldita Tierra, which delves into the complicity of multinational mining companies with crimes committed by illegal armed groups in the largest coal mining area of Colombia.
