Four Butler women and a Philadelphia man face charges brought by a statewide grand jury for their alleged roles in a drug ring that investigators say trafficked an estimated $400,000 worth of fentanyl from Philadelphia to Butler County.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro said the drug operation involved at least three dozen trips across the state to transport a kilo of fentanyl, or more than two pounds — enough for an estimated 50,000 individual doses.
The five defendants include: Desirae Feitl, 34; Jodi Shirey, 50; Brandi Zediker, 24; and Crystal Pakutz, 28; who all live in the city of Butler; and Quinzal “Slim” Powell of Philadelphia, court records show. Shapiro announced the indictments against the five suspects on Friday.

Marshall University’s School of Art and Design and The Pottery Place hosted an in-person bowl sale as part of the 18th annual Empty Bowls fundraising pottery sale. Empty Bowls Live, which took place at the Pullman Square gazebo in downtown Huntington, gave people a chance to browse through art students’ creations and purchase their favorites.
Proceeds from the event will be given to the Facing Hunger Foodbank in Huntington. Bowls cost $20 apiece, with each bowl sold providing 180 meals for those in need.

Region celebrates Easter with egg hunts, other events

HUNTINGTON — Whether they were sipping tea with the Easter Bunny or searching a community park for brightly colored eggs, children of all ages have had multiple opportunities in recent weeks to celebrate the holiday.
That included egg hunts at various locations in the area, some with special themes, as well as the Egg-Citing Spring Fling at Pullman Square in downtown Huntington. Developmental Therapy Center and Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District even presented an “Eggciting Egg Hunt,” an adaptive egg hunt for children with special needs.
Local shopping centers hosted events as well, with springtime to-go crafts being distributed at Ashland Town Center and an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt taking place at the Huntington Mall. The Easter Bunny visited both locations for photos with children throughout the past month.
