Track's Rincher Wins Wilma Rudolph Award

Bryand Rincher - Wilma Rudolph Award Winner TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Bryand Rincher, who helped lead the Florida State Men’s Track and Field Team to the 2021 ACC Outdoor Championship, has been selected as one of six recipients of the 2021 Wilma Rudolph Student-Athlete Achievement Award, by the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals.  The award honors student-athletes who have overcome great personal, academic and/or emotional odds to achieve academic success while participating in athletics. Rincher will accompany the Seminoles to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet in Eugene, Oregon (June 9-12) as an alternate member of the Seminoles’ 4X100 meter relay team. Just after the conclusion of his freshman year in July 2019, Rincher was involved in a grease fire that left much of his body with severe burns and forced him to spend several months in a hospital. In the spring of 2020, he enrolled in classes again at Florid ....

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Men’s Golf fell to Pepperdine, 3.5-1.5, on Tuesday afternoon in the NCAA Men’s Golf Match Play Quarterfinals held at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The loss ends a highly-accomplished 2021 year for the Seminoles, whom entered the NCAA Championship as the top overall seed, secured their first regional victory and earned their second Top 10 finish under the current format of the championship.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Seminoles.com) – The Florida State Men’s Golf team simply got the job done in Monday’s decisive final stroke-play round at the NCAA Championship.

Shooting a 7-over 287 on Memorial Day, the Seminoles secured one of the coveted eight spots to reach the NCAA Championship Match Play Quarterfinals held on Tuesday at Grayhawk Golf Club. Based on the stroke-play finish, FSU will be the 6 seed facing No. 3 seed Pepperdine at 9:20 a.m. ET.

FSU looked to its four-year leader for the big shots down the stretch in order to hold on to a Top eight finish. Clinging to an eighth-place spot through the first nine holes, John Pak carded a critical two-hole stretch where he recorded an eagle on the par-5 11th followed by a birdie on the par-4 12th.
