NEW MILFORD (AP) A missing hiker was found dead in Lover s Leap State Park in Connecticut, authorities said.
The hiker was found Sunday in Lake Lillinonah inside the park after a search by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, the New Milford police and other agencies, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said in a news release.
Other members of the group the man was hiking with said they had last seen him heading down from an overlook in the park late Sunday afternoon, a department spokesperson said.
The hiker s name was not immediately released. The state medical examiner s office will determine his cause of death. ....

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) â Five people had to ski through a heavy Alaska snowstorm to a mountain chalet after abandoning their airplanes on a glacier on North Americaâs tallest peak, where they were stranded for the weekend, officials said Monday.
The five landed Friday in three separate small airplanes â a Cessna 180 and two Piper PA18s â on Ruth Glacier on Denali, said Maureen Gualtieri, a spokesperson for Denali National Park and Preserve.
A fast-moving storm prevented them from flying off the glacier, and they spent Friday night in their airplanes at about 4,500 feet. They woke up Saturday and realized they didnât have enough resources to ride out the storm. ....

COLUMBIA FALLS, Mont. (AP) State wildlife commissioners have banned motorized watercraft from a lake near Glacier National Park in northwestern Montana at the request of residents worried about growing pressures from people moving into the area.
Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks commissioners voted unanimously for the ban last week, The Hungry Horse News reported.
It covers Tepee Lake, a shallow, 43-acre water body several miles from the North Fork Flathead River near the U.S.-Canada border. The lake hosts a family of loons and is publicly accessible.
About 70 percent of the lake is surrounded by Flathead National Forest and the rest by private land. Property owners around the lake had petitioned the commission to make the rule change. ....

Greater Noida: Six parks, spread over one to four acres, in Delta 1 Sector in Greater Noida need urgent repairs. While railings and boundary walls are missing in some, swings and benches are broken in others.
Apart from these, horticulture work also requires attention in some of these parks, with grass and plants drying up. Residents said repeated complaints have not yielded any results from the Greater Noida Authority so far.
Rishi Pal Bhati, RWA president of Delta 1 Sector, said, “The railings and boundary walls of the Rajesh Pilot Park are broken for six months. Open gyms are also lying in shambles due to the shoddy work done by the contractor. The equipment are damaged and our children are getting hurt. We contacted the authority and contractors, but no action has been taken yet.” He added that apart from repair work on open gyms, the broken swings and the iron railings also needs to be fixed. ....
