BELVIDERE, N.J., May 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Edible Garden, the national brand of sustainably grown Non-GMO greens and herbs, launched a new sustainable cut lettuce program at all 250+ Meijer superstores. Perfectly timed to coincide with National Salad Month in May, its goal is bringing more flavorful, fresh, nutritious, and safe locally grown leafy greens and salads to shoppers in the Midwest.
Edible Garden is partnering with Revolution Farms in Michigan, Eden Valley Farms in Indiana, and Superior Fresh in Wisconsin to produce the line using state-of-the-art hydroponic technology. Edible Garden expands with acquisition after year of record sales

Coming off a 2020 characterized by national demand and record sales, Edible Garden has signed a letter of intent to purchase a facility in Piqua, OH.
This agreement is a great opportunity to build on our mission of Zero-Waste Inspired farming, food safety, traceability, and the reduction of food miles, said Jim Kras, CEO of Edible Garden. This acquisition aligns our facility with recent distribution wins at retailers including Meijer and Walmart, allowing us to supply fresh produce throughout the Midwest.

The facility will go through an extensive renovation to accommodate Edible Garden s advanced processes and stringent food-safety protocols. Edible Garden acquires second facility for organic herbs

Edible Garden employs greenhouse, hydroponic technology
Edible Garden, a privately-owned US producer of organic fresh herbs and lettuce, plans to purchase a second facility after securing new listings with retailers Walmart and Meijer.
The company, which cultivates a full range of herbs and lettuce grown in greenhouses using hydroponic technology, said it has signed a letter of intent to acquire the site in Piqua, Ohio. It did not reveal the purchase price or the seller in a statement.
The family-run business was founded in 1973 as a garden centre before taking its current form in 1997, when it purchased Edible Garden s existing farm operation in Belvidere, New Jersey. It now grows potted and cut herbs such as basil, bay leaf and thyme, as well as lettuce, all free-from pesticides and herbicides. ....
