Odisha CM appoints retired IAS officer Upendra Tripathy as Advisor of Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], August 3 (ANI): Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik appointed Upendra Tripathy as advisor cum working president and chairman of the executive committee of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) with the status and rank of Minister of State.
Besides this, he will also discharge the duties as Principal Advisor (Education) to Chief Minister, said an official statement from the state government.
Tripathy, IAS (Retd.) officer of Karnataka cadre 1980 batch, brings in both global and local experience and expertise from across the world into the Adarsha School Sangathana in Odisha, the government said. ....

Road Ministry proposes norms to mark tyres based on fuel effiency, noise reduction, safety

Markings on the tyres will start from October 1 this year
In a move that will allow consumers make an informed decision on purchasing tyres, the Road Transport Ministry has proposed that tyres of cars, buses and trucks shall meet requirements of rolling resistance, wet grip and noise emission, a source from Road Ministry told
BusinessLine.
Rolling resistance of tyres influence fuel efficiency, wet grip is related to the braking performance of tyres under wet conditions (that in turn impacts safety) and noise emission levels, explained the officer from Ministry. Markings on the tyres will start from October 1 this year. All tyres will be marked from October 1, 2022. ....

Equinor Fire Investigations Concluded


Equinor s (NYSE: EQNR) internal investigations following fires at Hammerfest LNG and Tjeldbergodden have now been concluded.
Equinor (NYSE: EQNR) has revealed that its internal investigations following fires at Hammerfest LNG and Tjeldbergodden have now been concluded and that the results have submitted to the Petroleum Safety Authority.
The fire at Hammerfest LNG occurred in September last year, while the fire at Tjeldbergodden took place in December 2020. The investigation group noted that the Hammerfest fire, which occurred during start-up of the facility in the filter housing on gas turbine generator four, was caused by spontaneous ignition in the filters in the turbine’s air inlets, which was said to be caused by excessively high temperature over a long period of time. ....
