The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas launched a month-long fuel conservation campaign of the PCRA, SAKSHAM aimed at reducing fuel consumption in India
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on Saturday launched a month-long fuel conservation campaign of the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) named SAKSHAM 2021. The campaign aims at highlighting the adverse health and environmental impacts of increasing carbon footprints and convince consumers to switch to cleaner fuels.
As a part of the campaign, various activities such as cyclothon, farmer workshops, seminars, painting competitions, CNG vehicle driving contests, etc are held across India to spread awareness among the masses about the advantages of using clean fuels. ....

EESL to implement 'Energy Efficient PNG Cook Stove' programme across India

State-run Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) has inked a pact with Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) for implementation of Energy Efficient PNG Cook Stove (EEPS) programme, across India.
The EESL, a joint venture of PSUs under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PCRA, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for implementation of the EEPS programme on a pan-India basis, a statement said.
The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Tarun Kapoor, Secretary (Petroleum an Natural Gas) and Chairman, PCRA, during the inauguration of SAKSHAM (Sanrakshan Kshmata Mahotsav) Campaign 2021, a month long annual event by PCRA. ....

COVID a result of destruction of nature: Governor

The present COVID-19 crisis is a result of indiscriminate destruction of nature which disrupted activity in almost all spheres of life, remarked Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan.
Virtually inaugurating the month-long Samrakshana-Kshamata Mahotsav (SAKSHAM 2021) organised by State-level Coordinator for Oil Industry in Telangana, Ms. Soundararajan said indiscriminate exploitation of natural resources and burning of fossil fuels were resulting in high levels of pollution causing global warming. Hence, she called for promotion of clean and green energy to protect the plant earth and ensure survival of life on earth.
It was high time to promote clean, green and renewable energy at all levels to reduce pollution levels in the country in view of the fact that India was the third largest energy consumer in the world. ....

Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan will address a webinar on Saturday to mark the inauguration of Saksham (Sanrakshan Kshamata Mahotsav) 2021 oil conservation campaign in Telangana.
A nationwide initiative, Saksham 2021 will be held from January 16-February 15. The campaign, consisting of various programmes, is being organised by Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to sensitise people about conservation and efficient use of petroleum products for better health and environment.
National oil marketing companies Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL), Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) and the country’s largest gas distribution company GAIL are supporting the programme. ....
