Dianne W. Nelson, 82, of Jamestown, died Monday, April 12, 2021, in UPMC Hamot.
A lifelong Jamestown resident, she was born May 27, 1938, the daughter of the late Robert and Oleita Seeley White.
Dianne was a 1956 graduate of Jamestown High School and later graduated from WCA Hospital School of Nursing.
Her career as a nurse began at WCA Hospital and included work in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., before she returned to Jamestown to be closer to family and start one of her own in the late 1960s. She returned to the workforce in the early 1980s as a home health care coordinator for Upjohn Healthcare (later Care-Givers) and was shortly thereafter promoted to be the manager of the Jamestown office, where she worked until retirement and was recognized for excellence in managing the top regional CareGivers office several times. ....

The following are the church services in Forest City and surrounding locations listed in alphabetical order. This is our weekly feature at this time every Sunday. Please check with your church to see if there are online services which you can view.
Forest City:
Calvary Baptist Church  at 636 N. Best Street. Services are today at 10:30am and 6:30pm with Sunday School at 9am.
First Baptist Church at 18508 Highway 9.  10am Services-masks are encouraged. No Sunday School at this time.
First Congregational Church at 316 N. 6th Street. Services are  today at 10:30am with a 9am Sunday School. (Fellowship at 10am) ....

STATE OF THE VALLEY: Spanning the Need and Mahoning Valley’s ACTION organization will take part in a panel discussion and conversation on the “State of the Valley” moderated by Anthony Spano 7 p.m. Thursday on the Facebook page of “Spanning the Need,” www.facebook.com/anthonyvspano, then on their YouTube channel following the broadcast.
There will be several topics discussed such as suggestions on curbing violence in the communities, the importance of communication with all community leaders/public, and what successful initiatives or best practices have been or need to be accomplished. If time is available, the panel would be able to take questions from the viewers, where the viewers are able to submit questions in the comment section of the broadcast. ....
