Peruvian regions of Lima, Cusco, and Ica attracted the most visitors during the first quarter of 2021, with more than 400,000, the Peruvian Foreign Trade Society (ComexPeru) reported on Sunday.
Between January and March this year, tourist sites throughout the country received 448,675 visitors, down 82% compared to the similar period in 2020.
Of this total, 95.5% were Peruvians and the remaining 4.5% were foreign tourists, according to the Quarterly Tourism Performance Report prepared by ComexPeru.
Additionally, the report indicates that the regions with the most visitors were Lima (223,159, down 79.2% from the same period in 2020), followed by Cusco (112,621, -85.8%), Ica (65,366, -84.2%), San Martin (41,880, -46.6%), and Arequipa (22,193, -64.9%). ....

The non-traditional agro-export sector has shown stronger signs of recovery and accounted for 17.6% of Peru’s total shipments overseas in the first two-month period of the year, the Peruvian Foreign Trade Society (Comex-Peru) reported on Monday.
According to the exporting guild, non-traditional agro-exports totaled US$1.303 billion between January and February, an increase of 13.5% compared to the same period in 2020.
In this case, shipments of fresh grapes (US$509 million, up 27.1%), mangoes (US$166 million, up 3.5%), blueberries (US$45 million, up 25.6%), and avocados (US$39 million, up 76.2 %%) stood out.
Exports of onions and shallots also stood out, with sales growing by 94% to US$22 million in the same period. ....

agro-export sector has shown strong signs of recovery, accounting for 17.6% of Peru’s total shipments overseas in the first two-month period of the year.
According to the Peruvian Foreign Trade Society (Comex-Peru), non-traditional agro-exports totaled US$1.303 billion between January and February, an increase of 13.5% compared to the same period in 2020. Shipments of fresh grapes (US$509 million, up 27.1%), mangoes (US$166 million, up 3.5%), blueberries (US$45 million, up 25.6%), and avocados (US$39 million, up 76.2 %%) stood out.
