Peloton Selects Ohio As The Location Of Its First U.S. Factory

The first Peloton production factory in the U.S. is coming to northern Ohio, the company revealed Monday (May 24).
The selection comes after “a rigorous selection process,” Peloton states in a press release. Peloton Output Park is slated to break ground this summer and open in 2023, producing the Peloton Bike, Bike + and Peloton Tread.
The company will commit about $400 million to the new facility, the release states.

NEW YORK, May 24, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Peloton Interactive, Inc. (Nasdaq: PTON) today announced plans to build its first U.S. factory. After a rigorous selection process, Peloton selected Troy Township in Wood County, Ohio for the site of Peloton Output Park (POP), a state-of-the art factory that will be dedicated to producing Peloton s award-winning Peloton Bike, Bike+ and Peloton Tread starting in 2023. PTON) - Get Report said Monday that it plans to build its first U.S. factory in Troy Township in Wood County, Ohio.
Shares of the New York fitness equipment maker were down 1.8% to $99.04 on Monday.
Peloton said it expects to break ground on the facility, called Peloton Output Park, this summer and the factory will begin making Peloton Bike, Bike+ and Peloton Tread starting in 2023.
The company said it will commit $400 million to the facility, which will sit on more than 200 acres and have more than 1 million square feet of space. It is expected to create more than 2,000 new jobs. ....

(Reuters) -Home fitness equipment maker Peloton Interactive Inc said on Monday it would build its first factory in Ohio and start production in 2023.
Peloton has emerged as a pandemic winner as home workouts became popular during the prolonged coronavirus-led lockdowns.
The factory will be the latest addition to the company’s growing global manufacturing network, which includes third-party partners in Asia and Peloton’s own facilities, the company said. ....

Peloton is rolling out a software fix for its Tread and Tread+ treadmills after a massive recall.
Customers can now access a new Tread Lock feature that requires a four digit code before using the treadmill and locks the machine after 45 seconds of inactivity outside of a class. Peloton states on the feature s support page that users will be required to set up Tread Lock following an automatic software upgrade.
The fix applies to both of Peloton s treadmills: The $4,295 Tread+ and the $2,495 Tread. However, the cheaper machine which wasn t yet released in the United States, will have the feature by the end of June. ....
