BEVERLY, MA Beverly police are warning residents of a phone scam they said has targeted several city households in recent weeks.
Police said residents reported getting calls from local police requesting money to help a relative in need.
Beverly police will not call people requesting bail for a loved one, police said.

The scam is commonly known as the grandparents scam because the targets tend to be older adults who are told one of their grandchildren was at fault in an accident and needs bail money sent immediately. ....
