Woman stranded at Grand River shoreline in Painesville; agencies team up for rescue


Several area agencies worked together Dec. 12 to rescue a woman stranded at the Grand River shoreline in Painesville. 
Around 12:50 p.m. that day, Lake County’s central communications dispatch center received a call from a man who heard cries for help from the river in the area of Painesville Recreation Park, according to Lake County Sheriff Frank Leonbruno. 
Painesville police were dispatched to the high cliff area above the river to search. Meanwhile, sheriff’s deputies came across the old Casement Club golf course on the east side of the river through heavy brush to assist, Leonbruno said. 
They were able to locate a 26-year-old woman who had fallen from the cliff area (about 75 feet) the night before and was stranded at the shoreline and surrounded by fast-moving water, according to Leonbruno.  ....

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A women was rescued Saturday after falling from the cliffs along the river at a Painesville park.
She spent the night trapped along the shoreline.
On Saturday shortly before 1 p.m., a man called 911 to report cries for help from the Grand River area at Painesville Recreation Park just to the east of SR 20, according to a Lake County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post. ....
