The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, has emerged winner of the African Political Leader of the Year 2020. The president emerged winner after scoring over 50% of the total votes cast in the category, in a keenly contested poll, that also had the Presidents of Tanzania; South Africa and Senegal as contenders. Throughout the year he has tirelessly advised, advocated and appeared in the media, helping New Zealanders to understand the epidemiology of COVID-19 and the implications for action.
