May is Mental Health Awareness Month and focusing on this is more important than ever, as many experienced throughout this pandemic.New data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows one in four adults reported experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression.Youth mental health is also getting worse. Nearly 10 percent of youth across America have severe depression.Mental health awareness advocates push for ways to erase the stigma and emphasize the importance of talking to someone about how you feel.One group of high school students at Bonnabel High School came up with a way to make sure that message gets across. Having someone listen to you helps a lot because it makes you feel like someone is understanding you, someone is listening, someone is worrying about you, said Marea Parra, a sophomore at BHS.
