This week, we mark the one year anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  Exactly a year ago, we were overcoming the shock of learning a deadly disease was about to ravage not just a few countries, but the entire globe. The world as we knew it began to change dramatically.
 
Since then, over 520,000 Americans alone have died from COVID-19 and nearly 29 million people became infected. We were introduced to the concept of social distancing, learned the meaning of WFH, the pros and cons of remote learning for teaching kids, and how to spell Zoom. As many as 18 million people were put out of work at one point, and 8 million people slipped into poverty at a result of the pandemic. And no one could find any toilet paper! ....

With spoofing attacks on the rise, survey-grade GNSS receivers need to be protected by interference mitigation technology utilizing the latest security techniques to ensure reliable positioning.
The survey and mapping industry has been benefiting for years from GPS/GNSS precise positioning technology. While GNSS spoofing is recognized as a real threat for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs or ‘drones’), its influence on survey and mapping equipment is still underestimated. Reliable data capture is important across various mapping use cases, from man-based surveying and mobile mapping all the way to UAV photogrammetry. Ensuring dependable positioning requires the use of robust equipment, designed in such a way that alleviates all possible vulnerabilities. Before plunging into the US bond market, it’s noteworthy that BoE Gov Bailey said the risks of inflation are “increasingly two-sided.” The FT reports “The central bank is not about to raise interest rates in response to a rapid recovery, Andrew Bailey stressed, and would need to see ‘clear evidence’ that inflation would be sustainable at the 2 per cent target before it moved. But he highlighted that the BoE was undertaking work on the preparations for negative interest rates if the recovery disappoints and on how best to tighten policy if rapid spending growth in a recovery raises inflationary pressures.” ....
