Florida man sentenced to life in prison for fatally beating ex-wife

An Ocala man who prosecutors say heinously beat and killed his ex-wife, then stuffed her body into garbage bags that he hid in his camper, was found guilty of first-degree murder on Thursday and sentenced to life in prison.
Defense lawyer Jason Wise, who represented Bo Pete Jeffrey, said after the verdict that he was disappointed with the outcome. Wise said his client has many issues on appeal and looks forward to it.
Circuit Judge Steven Rogers sentenced Jeffrey, 57, immediately after the jury returned its verdict. Jeffrey has been in the Marion County Jail for 954 days awaiting trial.
