Council acts on block grants, raze orders and more Boscobel Common Council BOSCOBELS new logo will soon be going up on four new entrance signs to the city, as well as 12 directional signs pointing motorists to important Boscobel destinations. The citys new brand: Boscobel: Wisconsins Outdoor Recreation Destination was a collaborative effort between the Boscobel Developers, Chamber of Commerce and city leaders.
BOSCOBEL - The Boscobel Common Council moved forward with a $643,000 infrastructure project when it approved matching funds for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program during Monday night’s meeting. The city’s share would be $321,000, with the project scheduled for 2022.
Council moving forward with boat landing plan Boscobel
BOSCOBEL - The Boscobel Common Council met Monday and approved moving forward with a million-dollar Boat Landing Improvement Plan they hope to pay for with grant monies. If those aren’t funds aren’t available the plan will be scaled back.
The city has been working on the project with the Madison-based engineering firm Strand Associates, which was out at the boat landing last week doing survey work.
“We looked at three different proposals and this is the one we thought we could pursue,” said Ald. Steve Fritz, who chairs the Boat Landing Committee, which looked at the plans last week. “It should make it a lot less congested out there.”

Will Connely knows the ins and outs of Boscobel Bowl & Banquet, after all, he’s been cooking there since he was 21 years old. So when longtime owners Jan Richter and her brother Stacey Karsten decided to sell the popular Boscobel establishment on July 1 26 years to the day since they bought it from Quent and Gloria Hurtz, they couldn’t think of a better buyer.
“He’s been around here a longtime, he’ll be fine,” Stacey said.
