Bomb squad attend as two unexploded devices found in Lincoln

A bomb squad was called out to two separate incidents in Lincoln on Wednesday after the discovery of unexploded devices.
An old flare was found in a garden on Addison Drive and a hand grenade was obtained from the water on Waterside North in Lincoln.
Lincolnshire Police said the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit (EOD) attended the scene.
Police said both items will be safely removed by the EOD unit and transported to RAF Scampton where they can conduct controlled explosions so there is no risk to the public. ....

Hospital trust sorry over missing Lincoln man's fatal heart tear

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) has apologised after doctors missed a patient’s heart tear and sent him home before he sadly died later the same week.
Andrew Stevenson, 47, was cycling and started suffering from a number of worrying symptoms, so he went to Lincoln County Hospital.
The tear near his heart was not spotted and on Sunday, December 13, 2020 Andrew, who was the Director of Research & Enterprise at the University of Lincoln, tragically passed away.
An inquest heard that he was taken to Lincoln County Hospital with a list of symptoms that should have put doctors on high alert, according to ....

Lucy Radley is rowing from Boston to Lincoln and back.
Lucy Radley, a long distance pararower, is planning to row 62 miles from Boston Rowing Club to Lincoln, which is the usual route for the Boston Rowing Marathon, but she s making it doubly difficult by rowing the return journey back to the rowing club.
Lucy, a freelance journalist, suffers from MS, and said that rowing is one of the best things to help her condition: It keeps me walking, which in turn keeps me working.
Having competed five times in the Boston Rowing Marathon, hosted by the town s rowing club, Lucy wanted a challenge to take on as the regatta she would normally compete in over in Holland has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. ....
