International Drug Racket Busted, Netting 25 Indo-Canadian Criminals


The police action began on April 8 and by April 19, the police in Ontario, British Columbia and California had carried out more than 50 search warrants and seized about $2.3 million worth of drugs, including heroin and ketamine, and 48 highly sophisticated firearms, besides $730,000 in Canadian currency. The drug haul included 10 kg cocaine, 8 kg ketamine, 3 kg heroin and 2.5 kg opium.
TORONTO – The Canada police, after an almost yearlong operation, have busted an international drug racket by arresting more than 30 persons, including 25 Indo-Canadians from Ontario.

Police found kilos of heroin hidden in a children’s indoor playground facility in Brampton, Ont., when they moved to thwart an international drug trafficking network accused of smuggling cocaine, ketamine, heroin and opium into Canada and looping it through Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.
It was a “robust network” working to import drugs into the Toronto area from India and the United States and then distributing them “through a sophisticated system run by the traffickers,” according to York Regional Police.

New Delhi: Impressed with the performance of the two leased Sea Guardian drones, the Navy, Army and the Air Force will finally jointly procure 30 armed versions of the American unmanned aerial system in what could be a $3 billion deal, ThePrint has learnt.
The decision comes just before US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin’s visit to India later this month. Austin’s visit could be a precursor to the impending meet of the ‘Quad’ leaders US, India, Australia and Japan which is likely to be held soon. ....
