TVET sector promises NAVTTC cooperation Islamabad April 27, 2021 Islamabad : The national conference on establishing 75 Prime Minister’s High-Tech Skill Centers across the country was held at the headquarters of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) here on Monday. The participants included representatives from provincial TEVTAs, related public sector organisations, NAVTTC regional offices and vice chancellors of skill universities, etc. NAVTTC Chairman Syed Javed Hassan in the opening remarks welcomed the participants from all over Pakistan and said that establishment of these centers will prove to be a milestone in reforming the process of the country’s skill development sector. US promises $300 million boost in aid to Afghanistan April 22, 2021 Secretary of State Antony Blinken WASHINGTON The Biden administration hopes to send almost $300 million in extra civilian aid to Afghanistan this year, Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Wednesday as the United States prepares to pull out its troops from the war-hit country. “President Biden was clear that while the United States will withdraw military forces from Afghanistan, our support for the country will continue,” Blinken said in a press statement adding: “As part of our commitment to invest in and support the Afghan people, we are working with Congress to provide nearly $300 million in additional civilian assistance for Afghanistan in 2021 from both the Department of State and the United States Agency for International Development.” ....

For the majority of the voters in the constituency as well, the drinking water crisis is a major issue and they are demanding candidates contesting the by-poll to come up with a clear-cut and time-bound solution for the same. Long lines of blue plastic drums, canisters, buckets and bottles outside the water supply tanks are clearly seen in most of the neighbourhoods in the constituency.
