JAMMU, Apr 25: The concerned departments of the Government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are dilly-dallying on submission of details for Geographical Indication (GI) tagging of locally produced products and goods despite ample opportunity given by the Industries and Commerce Department and being aware of the fact that such an initiative would help the people affiliated with the job to get good amount in international markets.
Due to this, the Industries and Commerce Department is finding it difficult to furnish the requisite information to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, which is more than keen to extend necessary help to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on this aspect. ....

As the winter wreaked havoc, the power scenario in the valley was comparatively better, this time. Continuing the efforts to put in place better infrastructure and improved services in the sector, the measures are being taken and monitored at the top level. Taking review and seeking response from the field experts, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired two meetings in a week. Directing concerned officers to work for making things “best,” LG Sinha asked them to work on war footing to identify critical issues, their probable causes and likely mitigations in order to further improve the scenario of the power supply system in J&K. Giving nod to undertake projects being undertaken under various schemes, the meeting was told that J&K government has started strengthening the 33/11 KV substations for better power supply to various under-serviced areas. JAMMU, Jan 18: In order to ensure strict implementation of the directions being issued by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Manoj Sinha, his Principal Secretary Nitishwar Kumar will start holding review meetings with all the Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners from this week.
Besides directions of the Lieutenant Governor, his Principal Secretary will also hold deliberations on a host of other issues particularly strategizing/identifying the delivery of public services and preparation of road-map for change in public perception about the functioning of the Government departments. ....

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], December 15 (ANI): Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha on Tuesday visited the Purmandal- Utterbehani area and Mansar-Surinsar twin lakes and reviewed the progress on comprehensive plans for the development of these religious and tourist destinations.
During the visit, he also issued on-the-spot instructions for speedy development of the area.
As per a statement, the LG took stock of the development project of the Purmandal-Utterbehani religious tourism circuit under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD).
He also took a detailed review of projects at Purmandal including the construction of paved path/track to the temple complex, construction of viewpoints, up-gradation of bathing ghats, installation of focus light and poles with high mast ....
