National Prescription Drug Take Back Event Saturday

The Montana Department of Justice, local law enforcement agencies, tribal law enforcement agencies, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of unused prescription drugs on Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Montanans are invited to bring their unwanted prescription pills and patches for free no-questions-asked disposal at one of 21 participating collection sites across the state.
“Take Back Day is an easy way for Montanans to properly dispose of outdated medications while helping prevent opioid misuse in our communities,” Attorney General Austin Knudsen said. “I appreciate the work of our many law enforcement partners in making it convenient to drop off unwanted prescription drugs that might otherwise be abused or diverted.” ....

CHELMSFORD, MA If you have half-empty bottles of unused prescription drugs littering your bathroom shelves or medicine cabinet, mark your calendars for Saturday.
This year s first National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 24, giving residents of Chelmsford an opportunity to dispose of the medications safely before they end up in the wrong hands.
The federal Drug Enforcement Administration will host the 20th event in cooperation with law enforcement agencies. The service is free and anonymous. All pills will be accepted, but liquids, needles and sharps can t be taken during this event. ....

Free drive-thru COVID-19 testing: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and every second Saturday of the month at the Texas State University Round Rock Campus, 1555 University Blvd. This is a free, state-supported test collection site, operating at no cost to the individual. Participants do not need symptoms to be tested and no insurance is required. No appointments are necessary, although pre-registration at texas.spartancovidtesting.com is recommended. Fairfield, Dixon, Rio Vista to host drug take-back events
FAIRFIELD Area residents can drop off expired, unused, unwanted and potentially dangerous prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 20th Prescription Drug Take Back Day in the Civic Center parking lot on Kentucky Street.
The Fairfield Police Department is teaming up with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to put on the event.
Nationally, the public turned in nearly 500 tons of unwanted drugs at the event in October, and more than 6,800 tons of prescription drugs over the 10 years of the event.
Have medications ready for drop off in a Ziploc-type bag or the original container. Only pills and patches will be taken. Liquids, needles or sharps will not be accepted. The service is free and anonymous. ....
