Senior housing on way for downtown Moberly

The old Moberly Junior High building near downtown is getting a new life as senior housing.
The announced rehabilitation of what will be known as Tannehill Apartments took place Tuesday at Moberly City Hall.
A formal groundbreaking on the project will happen in the spring. Conversion of the school building into one- and two-bedroom apartments for older adults will take upward of one year, Northeast Community Action Corp. Public Relations Officer Brent Engel said. This means the facility will open sometime in 2022.
Construction and rehabilitation costs are estimated at $10.1 million. There will be 48 housing units available once completed.
This is a project that has been in the making for a lot years, Engel said. It s good to see that it is finally being done. ....
