Updated 4/7/2021 6:29 PM Buffalo Grove is inching closer to finalizing plans to hold its Buffalo Grove Days late summer festival with modifications to keep volunteers and attendees safe. Village Public Works Director Mike Skibbe said Monday that his staff has been working with the Buffalo Grove Days Committee and Buffalo Grove Park District leaders to explore ways to resume the event, which was canceled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. ....

Updated 1/19/2021 8:58 PM Buffalo Grove resident Carolyn Pinta would like to see the Pride flag fly at Buffalo Grove village hall. She made her comments at the end of Tuesday s village board meeting.
Pinta, who along with her family was instrumental in giving Buffalo Grove its first Pride Parade, said was already involved in successful efforts to get Lake County to fly the flag at the government offices in Waukegan in June. ....
Decision on Buffalo Grove board candidate delayed Gowri Magati Updated 1/14/2021 5:58 PM Buffalo Grove s electoral board deferred a ruling Thursday on village board candidate Gowri Magati s request to throw out an effort to remove her from the April 6 ballot. The panel instead will hear evidence on her motion Wednesday.
Village President Beverly Sussman, who sits on the electoral panel with Village Clerk Janet Sirabian and attorney Laura Jacksack, said there is a lot of evidence out there that has not been presented. Former Trustee Jeffrey Berman is objecting to Magati s nominating petitions. She s one of five candidates for three village board seats. Also running are incumbents Joanne Johnson, Les Ottenheimer and Andrew Stein, and former Trustee Mike Terson. ....
