Covid-19: Calls for New Zealand to produce our own coronavirus vaccines


Early in 2020 it allocated $37 million to support domestic and international work on the vaccine, including exploring the potential of vaccine manufacturing capability in New Zealand.

He’s still working in clinical practice for the Canterbury DHB, and he’s still the Dean of Otago’s Christchurch Campus. He’s a pathologist, a career that has recently become very relevant and interesting to everyone. He also makes guitars and ukuleles in his spare time. On top of all that, he decided with the support of his wife, he stresses to chuck his mortarboard in the ring for the Vice-Chancellor position and got the job.
