A Pakistani anti-terrorism court has sentenced five leaders of Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed s Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD) to nine years of imprisonment each in a terror financing case.
Three of them Umar Bahadar, Nasarullah and Samiullah have been convicted for the first time since the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Lahore pronounced its verdict some time ago in the terror financing cases registered by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Punjab police. The other two JuD spokesperson Yahya Mujahid and senior leader Prof Zafar Iqbal had already been convicted for many years in other terror financing cases. ....

Three of them Umar Bahadar, Nasarullah and Samiullah have been convicted for the first time since the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Lahore pronounced its verdict some time ago in the terror financing cases registered by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Punjab police. The other two JuD spokesperson Yahya Mujahid and senior leader Prof Zafar Iqbal had already been convicted for many years in other terror financing cases.
In the biggest city of Yangon, one group marched through the Insein district chanting and singing protest songs and cradling eggs bearing the slogan “Spring Revolution.” Many of the eggs also bore a drawing of the three-fingered salute, a symbol of resistance to the February 1 coup. ....

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday announced another judgment in terror-financing cases against leaders of the banned Jamatud Daawa (JuD) and awarded 15 years jail term each to Prof Zafar Iqbal and Yahya Mujahid.
The court awarded six-month jail term to another accused Abdul Rehman Makki.
The court convicted the JuD leaders in a case, registered by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Multan, under sections 11-F(2), 11-N, 11-I, 11-J of the Anti-Terrorism Act. These sections relate to being a member of a banned outfit and supporting and arranging meetings of a proscribed organisation, illegal fundraising and buying properties from raised funds. The court also extended benefit of 382 CrPC to the convicts. ....

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday told an accountability court that the assets owned by the wife of Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif and three others had been attached for being absconders in the reference of money laundering and illegal assets.
A prosecutor of the NAB submitted a compliance report before the court about the completion of the process for the attachment of the properties of the absconders under section 88 of CrPC.
Other absconders include Shehbaz s son Suleman, daughter Rabia Imran and son-in-law Haroon Yousaf.
