A wedding planner has drawn widespread condemnation in Indonesia for promoting child marriage in an advertisement posted on its website and social media earlier this week.
The advertisement from Aisha Weddings, which specializes in organizing Muslim marriages, encouraged Muslim women aged 12-21 to get married as a form of “obedience to God.” 
According to the agency, a Muslim girl’s job “is to serve a husband’s needs,” so she “must rely on a man as early as possible for the sake of a settled and happy family.” ....

I am grateful that Denver Rep. Diana DeGette continues to champion for the conservation of public lands with the reintroduction of the Colorado Wilderness Act.
In Sunday’s Daily Sentinel newspaper, Mesa County Commissioner Janet Rowland reacted to the introduction of the Colorado Wilderness Act with a misleading and inaccurate statement saying that protection of these lands would be a “slap in the face of people with disabilities because you can only access it if you’re able-bodied and can walk or hike.” I want disagree with her statement for the following reasons. ....

American Industrial Hygiene Association Wins CDC Award -- Occupational Health & Safety


The AIHA was awarded $500,000 from the CDC for the development of worker safety resources.

The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) received a Notice of Award from the CDC on Feb. 8.
The award was granted by the CDC’s “Improving Clinical and Public Health Outcomes through National Partnerships to Prevent and Control Emerging Infectious Disease Threats” program. AIHA will begin development on public education resources that are aimed at employed people. The programs will complement the association’s collection of Back to Work Safely resources.
The CDC awarded the AIHA $500,000 in funding for this venture. The association will create training videos and books for the audience of small business owners, first responders, teachers and other “vulnerable workers.” These resources are intended to help workers manage the spread of COVID-19. ....
