'Close down everything' till May 15 to curb Covid-19: MP CM Chouhan


Terming coronavirus as a big health crisis before humanity, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday said the only way to break the chain of transmission and contain Covid-19 cases is for people to close down everything till May 15.
Chouhan also announced providing free treatment for Covid-19 for patients from poor financial background, common citizens and middle class population in Madhya Pradesh, an official of the state s public relations department said.
To facilitate this, a package will be unveiled on Friday under the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme, he quoted the chief minister as saying at a meeting. ....

As the most vulnerable and deprived sections like beggars and the homeless are finding it difficult to get the Covid vaccine jabs as they don’t have a document of identity like an Aadhar card, the mayor of Mumbai Kishori Pednekar on Tuesday said they will not be left behind. She said the civic body will consider allowing vaccines for the homeless and beggars, and those who do not have Aadhar cards.
I will be taking up this matter with the BMC chief as well as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. With experts already anticipating the third wave of Covid-19, we should not let the vulnerable sections suffer and help them immediately, Pednekar said. ....
