Maharashtra's Amravati to be in 1-week complete lockdown after spike in coronavirus cases

The weekend lockdown in Maharashtra s Amravati was extended on Sunday as fresh orders were issued for a total lockdown in the district starting Monday, February 22, in the wake of rising Covid-19 cases.
One-week lockdown in Maharashtra s Amravati from February 22 
Maharashtra: Following a weekend lockdown order, a fresh one-week complete lockdown has been ordered for Amravati district of Maharashtra, said Guardian Minister Yashomati Thakur. Excluding Achalpur city, the lockdown will remain enforced in the entire district. All essential services are permitted. The fresh order was issued on Sunday in the wake of a surge in coronavirus cases in the district.  ....

A one-day lockdown will be imposed in Maharashtra s Amravati on February 21 amid rising coronavirus cases in the region, District Magistrate Shailesh Naval said on Thursday. On Sunday, February 21, all markets, offices, shops will be closed except for the essential services.  Owing to rising cases, lockdown declared in Amravati District from Saturday 8pm to Monday 7 am, Shelesh Naval, District Collector, Amravati, said.
The decision by Amravati s District Magistrate has come after the Maharashtra government left it up to the district magistrates of all 36 districts to decide on whether to imposed lockdown in their respective districts. ....
