379 Jalandhar: Following the call of Samyukta Kisan Morcha, auto-rickshaw drivers under the banner of Bhagat Singh Auto-rickshaw Drivers Union on Wednesday took out a protest march at Company Bagh Chowk and Municipal Corporation office. Holding placards against the anti-labour laws and the three controversial agricultural laws, the auto-rickshaw drivers said the protest was carried out to mark the ‘Black Day’. They also demanded financial help amid the Covid crisis. Ranjit Kumar, president of the union, said: “Due to the pandemic, all our savings have exhausted. It is becoming difficult for the poor auto-rickshaw drivers to arrange two-square meals. The daily earnings have also reduced to Rs100-200. Hence, in line with the Delhi Government, we also demand from the government to provide sustenance allowance of Rs5,000, to cope with the financial crisis. tns
NEW DELHI: Two more people who were allegedly involved in the Red Fort violence case have been arrested by Delhi Police. One of the suspects, Maninderjit Singh, is a Dutch national settled in Birmingham, UK. He had come to India and couldn’t return due to the lockdown. The other accused, Khempreet Singh, had assaulted police personnel on duty inside Red Fort with a spear and was caught on camera. Maninderjit was arrested from IGI Airport while trying to flee India with forged travel documents. A lookout circular notice had been issued against him. He was earlier involved in rioting in Gurdaspur, Punjab, and in another case of forging identity.

Image Source: IANS News New Delhi, March 10 : Delhi Police have arrested two more people in connection to the January 26 Red Fort violence, including a Birmingham-based Dutch national who is of Indian-origin. While the Dutch national has been identified as Maninderjit Singh (23), the second arrested person is Delhi resident Khempreet (21) who had a policeman with a spear inside the Red Fort premises. The two men were arrested on Tuesday night. According to the police, Maninderjit Singh was trying to flee the country with forged documents and posing himself as Jarmanjit Singh Khabbe Rajputan from Gurdaspur, Punjab.

While Maninderjit is a habitual criminal and was arrested from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport when he was trying to flee on forged travel documents, accused Khempreet had assaulted police personnel on duty inside the walls of Red Fort with a spear, the police added.
The police said that various teams of the Crime Branch Unit probing the Red Fort violence case have been conducting regular raids at different places in Delhi and Punjab. The duo, Maninderjit Singh, 23, and Khempreet Singh, 21, who were actively involved in the violence, were arrested on Tuesday.
