A man who fell asleep behind the wheel and drove off a cliff when he was in his late 20s died this week from injuries he suffered in that crash, the York County Coroner Pam Gay announced Wednesday.
67-year-old William Robertson was in his late 20s in 1980 when, while alone in his car, he fell asleep and crashed into an electric substation in Greensburg, Gay said. Robertson was ejected from his car, which led to him being quadriplegic.
Robertson was a resident of ManorCare Kingston Court in Springettsbury Township for many years, Gay said. ....

York County authorities are looking for the family of a man who died at a personal care facility this week.
Coroner Pamela Gay said Melvin Eckenrode was in his 70s and died of natural causes at ManorCare Kingston Court, at 2400 Kingston Court in Springettsbury Township.
Gay is asking anyone who knows or is part of Eckenrode’s family to call her office at 717-840-7617. ....
