Police are seeking an “important witness” who intervened to assist the victim of an assault in Gravesend town centre. The victim, a man in his 40s, was reportedly assaulted on Peacock Street, close to the junction with St Andrew’s Road, by two men at around 8.50am on Wednesday, March 17. A member of the public witnessed the assault taking place and intervened to assist the victim, who was taken to hospital for treatment to a cut to their head. Officers have reviewed a number of lines of enquiry while they continue to build the case, but are yet to hear from the person who assisted the injured man. ....

She was born in 1928 in Olean. Her father, William, died of TB when she was 5 and her mother, Geraldine, the following year from what might have been a brain tumor. And of course a broken heart. Abdi J. Reynaldo, 32, of Florida was arrested last Thursday and faces one count each of attempted murder, shooting at a vehicle and wilful child cruelty, along with two counts of assault with a gun.
