and Lt. Governor Jon Husted visited Ohio nursing facilities across the
state Friday to watch the administration of the first COVID-19 vaccines
in the nation in long-term care facilities as part of a new partnership.

Ohio Nursing Homes Begin Vaccinating Residents and Staff

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine watched as the first vaccine was administered at a Parma nursing home.
Nursing homes across Ohio are starting to vaccinate residents and employees with the new COVID-19 vaccine. Gov. Mike DeWine stopped at Pleasantview Care Center in Parma Friday morning to watch via livestream as the first employee received a shot. “This is the day we have been waiting for since this pandemic started,” DeWine said.
Nursing homes and congregate living facilities have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, often seeing outbreaks of the virus.
