Daughter of Evin prisoner Nahid Taghavi: Stay loud for all political prisoners German-Iranian architect Nahid Taghavi is held without charge in Evin prison in Tehran. Her daughter Mariam Claren, who lives in Germany, said that Europeans should stay loud for all political prisoners. Nahid Taghavi was detained on October 16, 2020 in her apartment in Tehran, and put in solitary confinement in the notorious Evin prison. Her relatives only found out about her disappearance when they got worried and went to her apartment to find it had been turned “upside down,” according to her daughter: “It was messy. Her German passport and her laptop, her books, private pictures, etc. were all taken away.” ....
Text size The daughter of a German-Iranian woman held in Iran since October warned on Tuesday that her mother s health is deteriorating and called for her immediate release. Nahid Taghavi was arrested at her Tehran apartment on October 16 after years fighting for human rights in Iran, in particular for women s rights and freedom of expression, according to the human rights group IGFM. According to Taghavi s daughter Mariam Claren, the 66-year-old architect is being held in solitary confinement in Tehran s notorious Evin prison. I am alarmed for two reasons: her state of health. and the fact that her detention keeps being prolonged, Claren told AFP. ....
