Some Honor Flight hubs set to resume, others cancel

(The Center Square) – The Honor Flight Network is set to resume flights beginning next month, but in accordance with CDC guidelines and other COVID protocols. Not all hubs are ready to fly their aging veterans to the nation’s capital.
Honor Flights are privately funded chartered flights for veterans of foreign wars of advanced age to visit war memorials in Washington D.C.
The national Honor Flight Network put out guidelines for flights to continue starting next month after canceling all flights amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Honor Flight is pleased to announce that operations will resume on August 16, 2021,” the group said on its website. “Additionally, in accordance with current CDC guidelines, all participants will be required to either be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide negative results of a PCR COVID-19 test ​within 72 hours prior to departure.” ....

Charles Bryon “Wally” McAuley, age 71,of Caldwell, Ohio, died on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Wally is survived his sister, Susan Hall of Brawley California, nieces Linda McAuley (Jenny) of Columbus, Melissa Deegan (Jeff) of Atlanta, Georgia, Georgina McAuley (Fernando) of Brawley, California, nephew, Tim McAuley (Annette) of Lakewood Village, Texas, special cousin, Sharon Robinson (Rodney) of Caldwell, and many lifelong friends. Wally is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Mike McAuley, and his great nephew, Adam Deegan.
Wally was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on August 23, 1949, the middle child of Dayle and Carol (Archibald) McAuley. He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1967 and then was drafted into the US Army. Wally’s commitment to service began when he proudly served his country in Vietnam from 1969-1971. He returned to Caldwell after he was honorably discharged and ....
