Doctor gets first shot of Covid-19 vaccine in TN as CM launches drive


Tami Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami inaugurated the Covid-19 vaccination drive in Tamil Nadu at the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai today. The first shot was given to K. Senthil, president of the Tamil Nadu Government Doctors Association.
Dr C Vijayabaskar, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu said that the state health department has made arrangements for vaccination at 166 centres in the first phase.
The vaccine shall be administered to healthcare workers in the first phase.
Ten doctors, who are pioneers in Tamil Nadu shall be administered the vaccine to avoid anxiety among the public. The vaccine was tested for immunogenesis and safety and has passed all the trials.

Nurses, doctors and health care workers in acute hospitals throughout the Mid-West have received a new vaccine against Covid-19 as part of a regional vaccination programme.
This programme will see the vaccine administered to all staff in UL Hospitals’ Group, the HSE Mid-West Community Healthcare Organisation and other healthcare settings.

Covid vaccine for Ennis hospital staff | The Clare Herald


The COVID-19 vaccination programme for Mid-West healthcare workers was rolled out to Ennis Hospital today.
The arrival of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine in the County Clare capital town this Wednesday has been welcomed by frontline healthcare workers who have been challenged as never before throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The first healthcare worker at the hospital to be vaccinated was Dr Mary Kennedy of the Medical Assessment Unit, who received her vaccine from Staff Nurse Caroline Mulligan.
Dr Kennedy said: “This is a day we have all been waiting for in Ennis Hospital and the arrival of these vaccines gives us all hope that an end is in sight.”
