Directions have also been issued to maintain record of administration of Remdesivir, the injectable drug, along with details of the hospitalised patients, sources said. The authorities have issued a set of instructions to COVID care centres, including six government and 20 private hospitals, in the district to put on display the details of the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of Remdesivir injections on notice boards. ....
Illegal sale of Remdesivir continues, 8 arrested Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA In two cases, the north division police arrested five people, one of whom is a manager of a private bank, for allegedly selling Remdesivir in black. “Four were arrested by the Mahalakshmi Layout police at a bus stop near a private hospital on Friday evening,” said Dharmendra Kumar Meena, DCP (North). The accused have been identified as Shivakumar, 32, a bank manager and resident of R.R. Nagar; Darshan, 29, a medical representative, his friend Girish, 30, a lab technician; and Nagesh, 43, a vegetable vendor. Inquiries revealed that Nagesh had purchased Remdesivir when his father contracted COVID-19. However, his father died, following which Nagesh decided to sell the remaining vials. Representational image | Photo Credit: PTI With the unabated surge in coronavirus cases and many of the COVID-19 patients requiring oxygen support, the private hospitals notified as COVID-care centres are grappling to cater to the burgeoning demand for medical oxygen. The demand for oxygen cylinders has peaked so high that more than 990 oxygen cylinders were consumed by around 49 COVID care centres including 46 private hospitals and three government hospitals in the district in a single day on Tuesday, sources said. Of the total 1400 COVID-19 tests conducted at the designated test centres in the district on Tuesday, around 500 tested positive for COVID-19. ....

Acting on a complaint filed by Harish A.R., Drug Inspector, the Varthur police on Saturday registered an FIR against Thrivikram Reddy, Managing Director of Sahasra Hospital. He has been booked for cheating and also under various sections of the Drug Control Act. While on an inspection of the hospital, Mr. Harish requested the hospital for purchase details of the injections and also the patients’ case details. “The hospital staff failed to produce the files.
