NJ Restaurant Association announces Dana Lancellotti as new president

Dana Lancellotti has been named the new president and CEO of the New Jersey Restaurant and Hospitality Association.
Lancellotti, who will take on the position March 29, is currently the director of business development and tourism for Ocean County.
After eight years, Marilou Halvorsen is leaving the organization to join the American Hotel & Lodging Association as vice president of state relations and government affairs. Her tenure at the NJRHA was book-ended by two cataclysmic events for the restaurant industry: Superstorm Sandy at one end and the COVID-19 pandemic at the other.
“I’ve known Dana for over 20 years and am so pleased to see her take the reins, said Halvorsen in a press release. She will do a tremendous job for the association and its members. Strong leadership is critical at this time.” ....

Trenton, NJ – The New Jersey Restaurant & Hospitality Association (NJRHA) has announced Dana Lancellotti as the association’s new President & CEO effective March 29, 2021. Lancellotti is currently the Director of Business Development & Tourism for Ocean County. Dana was chosen after an extensive search to replace Marilou Halvorsen, current NJRHA President & CEO, who leaves New Jersey this month for a national role in the industry.

NJ restaurants see increased indoor dining capacity as a big boost

Things are looking up for New Jersey s restaurants.
We are extremely happy, said Marilou Halvorsen, the outgoing president and CEO of the New Jersey Restaurant & Hospitality Association. It is certainly time to do this. It s in line with what other states are doing. We re excited.
Many restaurant owners are thrilled as well.
That s good news, said Simon Shargo, owner of Sushi Kai, a 25-seat omakase restaurant in Fort Lee that opened in the fall. I m happy we re moving forward. It s a good opportunity for restaurants to get on their feet.
With the previous 25% restriction, Kai could accommodate only up to seven diners at each of its three nightly seatings. It does not offer outdoor dining. ....
