Convicted double murderer Jeremy Christian, who is now serving a “true life” sentence at an eastern Oregon prison, has appealed his case to the state Court of Appeals.
Christian gave notice to Multnomah County Circuit Court Dec. 2, more than five months after he was sentenced for the May 2017 first-degree murders and a hate-fueled crime spree.
No court documents have been filed yet that outline the grounds for Christian’s appeal or even whether Christian is simply appealing his conviction, his life sentence or both. ....

A Multnomah County man filed a lawsuit Dec. 9 accusing his employer, the Oregon Robotics Tournament and Outreach Program, of racial discrimination and retaliation.
Court records say Dominique DeWeese began work as an outreach and volunteer coordinator for the nonprofit in September 2017. He was the only Black employee, court records say. ....
