CAMERON HIGHLANDS: The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (MAFI) has not received any report on the shortage of food imported from India following the rise in the country’s Covid-19 cases at the moment.
Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ronald Kiandee said the ministry had not received such reports especially involving onions, rice and meat imported from the country, ahead of the Aidilfitri celebration next month.
“So far, there has been no impact (food shortage) in Malaysia. This means that the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic that hit India has not affected the supply of imported food. ....

CAMERON HIGHLANDS (Bernama): The Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (Mardi) has achieved another milestone with the establishment of the Centre of Excellence for Green Agriculture here and the launching of two eco-friendly products - Multi Virus Biopesticide Technology and OrganoPlus fertiliser.
Agriculture and Food Industries Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee said the centre was set up to strengthen research and development in green technology, upland crops and technology transfer.
Mardi s centre of excellence plays an important role in the research of pest and disease control using biological control agents and organic waste management approach for biogas production, in addition to technology transfer through technical training in vegetable and flower farming and upscaling, ” he said after officiating the centre here Thursday (April 29). ....

CAMERON HIGHLANDS: The Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) has achieved another milestone with the establishment of the Centre of Excellence for Green Agriculture here and the launching of two eco-friendly products, namely the Multi Virus Biopesticide Technology and OrganoPlus fertiliser.

MARDI launches four food innovation products

SERDANG (March 9): The Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) has introduced four food innovation products with health benefits, namely mixed soup with pegaga extract, high-protein jelly pudding premixed flour, high-fibre premixed bread flour and fermented coconut water.
“All these products, which have undergone about three years of research and development (R&D), are very much sought after because they contain basic nutrients like protein, fat, carbohydrates as well as disease-prevention properties,” Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries deputy secretary-general (Policy) Datuk Haslina Abd Hamid told a press conference after officiating the 2020 National Food Technology Seminar here today.
On the marketing methods for the products, she said there were four approaches that could be implemented, namely exclusive or non-exclusive licensing, direct selling, cooperation between MARDI and interested companies, as well as appointing companies ....
